Fiscal Hosting FAQs
β What is a Fiscal Host?
A Fiscal Host is an organization that holds funds on behalf of Collectives, allowing them to operate financially without needing to establish a legal entity.
This arrangement β also called fiscal sponsorship β allows your Collective to:
Receive and manage donations, sponsorships, grants
Issue invoices and receipts to contributors
Handle taxes, bookkeeping, and legal compliance
Pay expenses approved by your Collective admins
The Open Collective platform provides all the tools to manage these flows transparently.
π¦ How do I add a Fiscal Host to my Collective?
If your Collective does not yet have a Fiscal Host, you can add one by:
Going to your Collective page
Clicking on βApply to Fiscal Hostβ
Choosing the appropriate Host (such as Open Collective Europe)
